From 1/31/2007 Dallas Morning News:

WOOD, LAWRENCE (LARRY) BRYAN, Son of Frank Erwin Wood and Augusta Carpenter Wood, was born in Dallas on October 6, 1944 and passed away on Friday, January 26, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Dawn Wood and Lindsay Dru Wood; a sister, Laura Grace Hampton; and two nephews, Douglas Kuni and David Kuni. Larry was preceded in death by his parents. He graduated from Highland Park High School in 1962, and went on to earn his BA and MA in Economics from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where he was a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon Honor Society in Economics. Larry was a sweet, kind and gentle soul, who never missed a sunset. He rose above all obstacles to complete multiple 26 mile marathons and several 1/2 marathons. He leaves behind a legacy of optimism and a positive outlook even in the worst of situations. The people who came to know Larry were forever changed by his kindness and thoughtfulness. The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Medical Center of Plano, The Plaza of Richardson, Collin Oaks Assisted Living Community and Baylor Regional Medical Center at Plano. He attended First Presbyterian Church of Richardson for several years where he was active in the Men's Bible Study, Meals on Wheels and Close Closet. His church and his friends were a very important part of his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Presbyterian Church of Richardson for construction of the outside Prayer Labyrinth Project. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Thursday, February 1, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church, 319 LaSalle Drive, Richardson, Texas 75081. A separate interment service will be held at later date. Restland 972-238-7111 restlandfuneralhome.com
