Evgenia Boswell, 78, of Wylie, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2023 surrounded by her family.

Evgenia was the youngest of three girls born on December 29, 1944, to Gus and Janie Carras in Dallas, Texas.

After attending Highland Park High School, she went on to study cosmetology. She excelled and participated in the L’Oréal Colour Trophy in Paris, France where she won many competitions. Evgenia did hair at Northlake Salon for over around 10 years.

In 1964, Evgenia stole David’s heart, and they have been inseparable ever since.

They were married over 57 years sharing their lives together traveling, hosting gatherings with friends and family, and most importantly raising their 3 beautiful girls, Debra, Diana, and Dayna.

Evgenia was a dedicated mom and personified unconditional love beyond measure. She and David raised all 3 girls to go on to accomplish great things and strive to be moms like her. Family came first and was a value that she instilled in all those around around her. Being a mom came naturally to Evgenia and was one of the most important parts of her life that gave her much pride and joy. She was supportive, warm, outspoken, and fun to be around.

Evgenia was passionate about arts and crafts. She was constantly using her creativity to work on many projects which ultimately lead to her Nia’s Necklaces small business of wooden beaded necklaces. She continuously had a plan for what she was working on next including serving on the Canyon Creek Elementary PTA for 10 years where she made lifelong friendships and later making and selling homemade lunches to corporate offices with her husband.

Evgenia was the best friend. She lit up the room and never met a stranger. Her energy was contagious. She was beautiful inside and out, and people were drawn to her. She honestly was the nicest person in the world.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Gus Carras; mother, Janie Carras; and sister Demetra Michalopulos. She is survived by her husband, David; daughters, Debra Bottoms, Diana Menjivar, Dayna McCormick; sons-in-law, Chuck Bottoms, Nelson Menjivar, and Cy McCormick; and grandchildren, Graham, Hadley, Charlie, Carter, Cal, and Sam. Evgenia is survived by her sister Zoe Chantilis and brother-in- law Angelo Chantilis, as well as, her precious nieces, nephews, and cousins.

May her loving memory be eternal.
