 LINDSLEY WATERS OBITUARY

WATERS III, Lindsley (Cap) Lindsley "Cap" Waters III, dedicated husband, father of two and friend to many, passed away on September 17, 2022, at the age of 78. Cap was born to Lindsley (Bus) and Jeanne Waters in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Highland Park High School before attending the University of Texas where he studied art. He married Barbara Marsh, the love of his life and they spent 55 years together. They welcomed two sons together Lin and Chris. Through the years Cap enjoyed drawing and illustrating. If you were lucky to receive one of his handmade cards, you cherished the little masterpiece that it was, and the time and detail put into it. Their home was filled with his incredible paintings and sketches and his work drew praise from all those who viewed it. Along with art, Cap was passionate about his sons. He could be found on the sidelines coaching sports from soccer and baseball to football. When not on the sidelines, he could be in the stands cheering for his sons as they played football in high school and college. Cap loved his grandchildren as fiercely as his sons. "Pops" never missed one of his grandchildren Hanna or Jacob's sporting events or band concerts or choir concerts. Pops also loved watching his youngest grandson Liam play with his dinosaurs and animals and was entertained by the FaceTime calls and videos with Liam. Cap was Barbara's one true love. They were a beautiful example of a married couple living their vows in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad. Barbara lost a piece of her heart when she said goodbye to Cap for the last time. To quote one of Cap's favorite movies, Lonesome Dove, "It's not dying' I'm talking' about...It's living". In his memory, donations can be made to the Dallas Area Parkinson's Society.
